Roomate and I went to the Indian Casino, Cache Creek, this Friday night and we ate like hungry dogs at the buffett--man was it rocking! They say the casinos are all having a hard time of it now because of the price of gasoline and because folks are suffering as the result of the recession and business is way down for them. Well, my theory is that man oh man did they get my attention at Cache Creek because they tried too hard with the buffett. They had clams that were fresh and tender and prime rib that simply melted away off my fork; of course I haven't been eating that much red meat for awhile but it was awsome; and, they had shrimp fixed a lot of ways; and there was sword fish and crab legs and crab cakes and scallops.... Anyhow, it was prime time and I must have eaten for over two hours. Roomate left the table an hour or so before I did in order to start gambling and that, and the fact that he has won about $9,000 since December against the $50 or $60 I have won in the same period of time, is the point of this story.
What I do is start my gambling with the ten free dollars they give you each month; of course you have to put some of your own money up front in order to get it rocking which, in my case is usually a $20; then I play the dollar slots as long as I am able to continue playing on their money.... However, when I am down to my original $20, I stop. And, that, is not how the real deal gamblers do it, I got that in my head clearly from Roomate on Friday night!
AN UNSUNG HERO:
- Kamaroh
- Naturalist by devotion, humorist by genetics, hero by default; Kamaroh is a Republican, a Presbyterian, a Polio surviver, a former US Marine, & Great Plains Badger. Earned an MA in English from SFSU. Student & friend of novelist Kay Boyle. His blog is a no profanity zone. There is little edgey emotionalism if he avoids thinking about his children. Kamaroh is a masculinist, places value on fraternity & believes living stag is a responsible and manly option. Particularly apreciative of the charm of Asian females, he discovered in 1999 he is able to love one small lady to the extreme that thinking about her can make his nose bleed. From boyhood forward, he values having male friends & male role models; though this blog is an extention of that belief; it is all welcome. Though containing male posturing, biased poetry, shakey facts, & faulted bachelor housekeeping, this blog's intent is to be good for your health & contains no spanky material. Pardon me if I am speaking too loudly because even with the high tech ... hearing aids the Veterans Administration provides to me, I do not have normal hearing.

WHO IS KAMAROH!
I am a book that you cannot judge by its cover. I am an unsung hero. I am entitled to those comforts in life that I find desirable. I am entitled to be loved by someone whom I find loveable. I am a rebel--I disagree loudly with those who proclaim that the fate of the common man is static. I am a man who will not be stopped from achieving his goals. I am a man who does not believe his circumstances define who he is. I am a man who is gray but who is not frail. I am a man who is entitled to respect from clerks in gocery stores. I am a man who will say something harsh to anyone who cuts in front of him in a line. I am a man who has no sense of, nor concern for, competition--except when I am behind the wheel. I am a masculinist. I believe that men do not need females in order to display a soft touch in their homes. I am a man who has male heroes. I am a man who enjoys strong cars, lots of men friends, and the company of an Asian woman. I am a man who likes a choice. I am a man who compulsively arranges words; sometimes they wind up on paper but most of the time they are on the not-so-flat screen of my mind scrambling for their very lives. I am a man who believes that there is no such entity as they who has control over my life. I am a man who is always on the clock. I am a man who will be hostile if his time is wasted. I am a man who will walk away from a Time Wastin' Woman. I am a man who understands that reality is a moving place. And, I am a man who believes in God.

KAMAROH MOVES TODAY!
For several Years I have written at Kamaroh.Journalspace.com The name of my blog at that location is THE UNSUNG HERO SINGS.
I have been unhappy at Journalspace; more so lately and have pondered making the move for a long time; and, today I have taken the leap: Hello world, Kamaroh and his notion of the domestic hero, and his believe in the triumph of the common man, have began at a new juncture!
Chow for today,
Kamaroh
